Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the Belle Époque at the foot of the cliffs
Between Villefranche and Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu is a small town squeezed between the sea and a 500-metre cliff, which gives it one of the mildest climates in France. The 19th-century winter visitors covered it with villas, palaces and gardens; what remains is a casino, a Rotunda, stucco façades and, on the tip of the baie des Fourmis, the Kérylos villa, a Greek house of Antiquity rebuilt stone by stone. Everything is on foot, on the flat, in ten minutes.
